Short Term Training
The CAES International Programs Office has facilitated over 12,000 person days of training for people from more than 40 countries. Along with our recent trainings and workshops, IPO participates in short term fellowship programs and faculty exchanges:
The International Ag Extension Academy: The International Programs office runs a wide range of short term capacity building workshops to help partners develop their abilities to conduct research and extension.
USDA Cochran Fellowship Program: International Programs at UC Davis is a major host for short-term Cochran fellows. The Cochran Fellowship Program provides short-term training opportunities to agricultural professionals from middle income countries, emerging markets and emerging democracies. USDA Borlaug Fellowship Program: The Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program promotes provides training and collaborative research opportunities to scientists, researchers or policymakers who are in the early or middle stages of their careers. Each fellow works one-on-one with a mentor at a U.S. university, research center or government agency, usually for 6-12 weeks. Key contact: Jan Hopmans
