UC Davis has provided technical assistance, education, training and materials to support Iraq. The focus has been primarily on horticulture and extension
IAER - Horticulture and Extension (2007-2011). UC Davis is a major participant in the 2007-2011 USDA funded project Iraq Agricultural Extension Revitalization. The Texas A&M led Consortium consists of five land grant universities: University of California-Davis, New Mexico State Univ., Texas A&M University, Utah State University and Washington State University. IAER has involved a number of in-region, in-country and at UC Davis trainings. Click here for more on IAER.

2011
- Iraq Horticulture and Greenhouses. A 1 week course held in Erbile for the 17 participants. The course focused on high value horticulture and greenhouses and hoop house management. Lead instructors: Louise Ferguson and Gary Hickman

the 10 IAER participants. The course focused on high value horticulture

A 10 week train-the-trainer course conducted at UC Davis to train university and ministry specialists in enhanced horticulture practices and more effective extension methods. The course with 10 participants was supported by USDA though the Iraq Agricultural Extension Revitalization (IAER) project. Lead instructors: Louise Ferguson, Ron Voss and Mark Bell
2008
Iraq:
Post harvest management and extension. A 1 week course
conducted in Egypt to train
university and ministry specialists in enhanced postharvest practices
and more effective
extension methods. The course with 30 participants was supported by
