Capacity Building and Research Projects 


  • Agricultural Innovation Partnership. UC Davis is working with the Cornell-led Agricultural Innovation Partnership (AIP) project. Paul Marcotte was in-country Director during 2011 and Dr Tom Rost is the present UC Davis contact. Based in Varanasi at Banaras Hindu University, the project involved curriculum and faculty development to improve the linkage between university research and extension. Link
  • Post Harvest Center for Food Safety. UC Davis worked with Indian counterparts to develop a post harvest training center (Project finished 2008) Contacts. Paul Marcotte

2008

  • aug08353India. Food production and marketing systems. A one week course conducted in California and Florida.  The course with 20 participants was supported by the USDA Cochran program. Lead instructor: Corky Lovin
  • India. Fresh produce handling and marketing. A two week course conducted in California.  The course with 5 participants was supported by the USDA Cochran program. Lead instructor: Corky Lovin
Vegetables
UC worked to help establish a postharvest center to deliver better, safer foods to consumers.
