Originally from Virginia, Laina is a master’s student in the International Agricultural Development (IAD) Graduate Group. She earned a BS from Virginia Tech in Crop and Soil Environmental Science with concentrations in International Agriculture and Sustainable Food Systems. Laina has worked internationally through universities and non-profit organizations in Cambodia, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras and Nepal. Her research is focused on analyzing the gendered impacts of agricultural technologies.
